Kneepad project

“Acherontia Atropos” is a knee-high jewelry made from chamotte and white clay, glazed with silver glaze and cobalt gold. It is secured to the legs by leather straps fastened with brass plates. This work is Inspired by a silver kneecap, found in a royal tomb from the 4th century B.C.

For me this is an opportunity to show the world of contemporary jewelry, something both antique and brand new as a way of expressing yourself.

The white clay jewel I made is more like a prototype of what I believe is my bigger goal. I Imagined that the jewel could be made by a material that will let it be worn more widely by people.
